Mechanical Project Engineer

Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity for their client in Bushnell, IL for a Mechanical Project Engineer.

Relocation assistance is offered. Annual salary is $85k/year.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Mechanical Project Engineer will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective automated manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.   High energy, a strong sense of curiosity and hands-on mechanical experience is required. 
 
Specific Responsibilities Include:
-Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes and product designs.
-Evaluates business cases for new manufacturing processes, presents recommendations to upper management.
-Creates new designs to solve difficult manufacturing problems.
-Designs or sources production equipment, robotic systems and automation equipment.
-Prepares detailed CAD models and drawings to facilitate fabrication.

Qualifications of the Position Include:
-5 years of progressive manufacturing/mechanical engineering experience in a manufactured products environment.
-Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills in a manufacturing environment.
-Experience designing machines and machine components including but not limited to shafts, bearings, motors, frames, fixturing, etc.
-Prior experience with manufacturing equipment in the areas of: forging, stamping, casting, welding, machining, & assembly.
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team orientation.
