Mechanical Project Engineer
Trillium Staffing is now seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for direct-hire!
Annual salary is $90,000 - 120,000 based on experience. Hiring company is a global leader in the manufacturing and servicing of lifting equipment, including cranes, hoists, and other material handling solutions.
Principal Responsibilities:
This position will oversee all mechanical and structural design activities to support the modification and modernization of electric overhead cranes for the Americas region.
-Manage the product lines related to legacy electric overhead cranes (EOT) and portal cranes.
-Review order documentation and detailed customer specifications to define the scope of work and create a project plan.
-Utilize company archives to locate records of legacy equipment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and structural drawings of legacy equipment is essential.
-Perform engineering tasks following established procedures, including creating equipment layouts and conducting mechanical and structural calculations to validate designs and generate final design documents.
-Prepare detailed assembly, sub-assembly, and installation drawings to meet order requirements.
-Develop comprehensive work instructions to support field installation.
-Take responsibility for project planning, scheduling, design execution, and ensuring the project stays within budget and schedule from inquiry through start-up.

Vacation:
-2 weeks of vacation per year (pro-rated for the first year based on start date).

- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
-At least 5 years of experience with electric overhead cranes or similar industrial equipment is preferred.
-A Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure is advantageous. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machine design and structural engineering practices.
-Experience in the overhead material handling industry is highly preferred, along with familiarity with industry standards such as CMAA and ASME B30.
-Knowledge of welding and machining processes is required.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for this role.
-Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office is required.
-Ability to effectively communicate with various teams, including frontline sales, customers, application engineers, and project management.
-Must be comfortable working at heights, up to 100 feet, during site visits for application and commissioning.
-Estimated travel: 5% for customer meetings, equipment commissioning, and product inspections at various manufacturing locations. Domestic and international travel is required.
