Senior Estimator

Trillium Construction is hiring for a Senior Estimator to work directly with a large, well-respected heavy civil contractor in Arroyo Grande, CA.

This individual will be responsible for identifying and preparing project bids in accordance with the project plans, specifications and other listed requirements for both public and private civil construction projects up to $70 million in value. This is a direct-hire, full-time, and long-term opportunity with a competitive wage and benefits!

Duties:
-Identify project leads and obtain project documents, 
-Preparation and management of project estimating files
-Perform detailed material takeoffs including utilization of Agtek for earthwork quantities.
-Obtain quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers.
-Creation of preliminary project schedule for estimating purposes.
-Attendance of pre-bid meetings as necessary 
-Management and documentation of all pre-bid communications
-Prepare detailed Estimates using Heavy Bid.
-Present estimates in bid reviews
-Supervise and mentor estimating staff 
-Develops and maintains records and documentation of production costs, performance against established standards, and other related metrics.
-Assist with pre-award requirements as necessary.
-Meets with project staff to ensure a seamless transition between estimating and project management.
-Assist project management staff with change order pricing as required 

Compensation:
-Annual salary between $111,000 - $146,000

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
-10 years of related estimating experience required; supervisory experience preferred, minimum 5 years Caltrans experience preferred
-Strong knowledge of project coordination and scheduling.
-Proficiency in construction estimating techniques.
-Proficient with HeavyBid estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
-Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
-Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
-Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
-Thorough understanding of quality building practices
