Master Maintenance Technician

<p>A growing and dynamic manufacturing operation with multiple locations is seeking an experienced Master Maintenance Technician to join its Shelby Township team!</p>

<p>Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM<br />
Reports To: Maintenance Manager<br />
Pay Rate: $28-35/ hour based on experience</p>
<p>As a Master Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a critical leadership role in maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting complex industrial systems and equipment. In addition to hands-on work, you’ll guide and develop the Maintenance Technician team, ensuring top performance and reliability across all machinery.</p>
<p>What You’ll Do:<br />
- Lead and support Maintenance Technicians, delegating tasks, setting priorities, and offering mentorship and feedback.<br />
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve equipment issues, lead installations, and offer insight on technical challenges.<br />
- Design, troubleshoot, and program PLC systems.<br />
- Serve as the after-hours service contact on a rotating basis when required.<br />
- Perform precision setups and operate industrial machinery such as lathes, mills, and grinders.<br />
- Create parts/material lists for repairs and custom builds.<br />
- Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance, including emergency troubleshooting and problem-solving on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.<br />
- Execute preventive maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly).<br />
- Fabricate custom machine parts using tools such as welders, mills, and drill presses.<br />
- Maintain and track inventory of frequently used and critical spare parts.<br />
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and aerial lifts when needed.<br />
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).<br />
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives.</p>

<p>- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic).<br />
- - High level of proficiency with machine troubleshooting, fabrication, and precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).<br />
- Expertise in PLC programming and logic systems.<br />
- Familiarity with robotic systems and advanced automation tools.<br />
- Strong computer skills and comfort working with maintenance software.<br />
- Effective communicator and team leader, capable of working independently or managing others.<br />
- Strong analytical and mechanical problem-solving skills.<br />
- Commitment to safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.<br />
- High School Diploma or GED <br />
- 8 years’ maintenance experience</p>
<p>Preferred:<br />
- Technical degree, journeyman certification, or 15+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.</p>
