Solar Foreman - Per Diem Offered
Trillium Construction is immediately hiring for the position of solar foreman for commercial projects across California!
Pay rate is $35/hr plus Per Diem when applicable and mileage pay when applicable.
As Solar Foreman, you’ll supervise a small crew (3–6 installers) installing solar systems on rooftops, ground?mounts, and carports across the state. You’ll be the onsite leader—planning labor, maintaining quality and safety, reading blueprints, and driving projects forward.
Key Responsibilities
Crew & Workflow Management
-Assign daily tasks and organize the workforce.
-Create and update 3 week look ahead schedules to align materials, labor, and equipment.
-Lead daily tailgate or safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company policies.
Blueprints & Layout
-Read and interpret blueprints, permit sets, P&IDs, and electrical schematics to lay out panel and equipment placements
-Mark and adjust layout in the field as required.
Installation & Quality Control
-Supervise installation of mounts, rails, panels, inverters, combiners, wiring, grounding, and labelling
-Perform quality audits at key phases and final inspections.
Safety & Compliance
-Conduct site safety briefings, ensure PPE and fall protection systems are used properly
-Ensure compliance with NEC, California code, and company standards.
Coordination & Communication
-Interface with project managers, engineers, and inspectors.
-Communicate daily progress, challenges, and schedule updates.
-Handle service calls and troubleshooting follow ups as needed
Crew Development
-Train, mentor, and assess crew members to build their technical skills.
-Foster a positive and productive team environment .
Logistics & Reporting
-Ensure necessary materials and equipment arrive on time.
-Maintain daily logs, look ahead schedules, site photos, and crew timesheets.

Qualifications
-2+ years leading solar installation crews (residential/commercial/government)
-Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
-Hands on PV installation experience (mounts, wiring, grounding, panels, inverters)
-Valid CA driver’s license; willingness to travel & stay overnight
-Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
-OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training; CPR/First Aid preferred
NABCEP certification or CA electrical certification is a plus
-Frequently lift up to 50lb; climb ladders and move on rooftops and structures
