We are currently seeking a CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join our client’s well-established and growing precision machining operation in the Bluffton, IN area.

This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong CNC and CAD/CAM experience, eager to support both production and prototype machining operations in a dynamic, high-mix environment. Salary is $85,000 – $90,000 (Direct Hire). Schedule is Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Position Overview:
The CNC Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in supporting internal machining needs, driving new product launches, and optimizing current processes. Responsibilities include time studies, prototype machining coordination, CAM programming, CNC manual programming, CAD modeling, and development of setup documentation.

This role offers the opportunity to lead projects from concept through production and contribute directly to the shop floor through process design and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and optimize precision machining processes for fixturing, tooling, materials, feeds/speeds, and CNC programming
-Create and revise CAD models and prints (SolidWorks proficiency required)
-Write and troubleshoot CAM and manual CNC programs
-Perform time studies, setup optimization, and support prototype machining
-Assist in new product introductions, including documentation, process setup, and team training
-Support the quoting process for new customer RFQs in collaboration with the sales team
-Participate in the design, testing, and sourcing of new tools and equipment
-Lead or assist in capital equipment projects, including installation and integration
-Analyze and improve existing processes for quality, cost, and productivity gains
-Ensure accurate BOMs and routing for existing and new products in ERP systems
-Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and future technology planning

Qualifications:
-Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC machining and programming
-Proficiency in G/M codes, CNC operation, setup, and troubleshooting (turning & milling)
-Strong background in CAM programming and CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
-Familiarity with GD&T, blueprint reading, stack-up tolerancing, and tooling strategies
-Excellent communication and project coordination skills
-ERP and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
-Secondary education or technical certification preferred, but not required
