BAS & HVAC Installation Foreman - Per Diem Offered

Trillium Construction is now seeking an Automation Controls/HVAC Installation Foreman for work out of Helena, MT!

Pay rate is $45-$65/Hour, $125/Day Per Diem, paid 7 Days. Schedule is working 4/10s, Mon-Thurs., in the field, and part of Friday in the office in Helena scheduling installs, reviewing drawings and plans, tracking delays, etc… 40-48 Hours/Week.

Position Summary
The Building Automation Installation Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of building automation system (BAS) installations across new construction commercial and customer retrofit projects. This individual ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. They oversee installation teams, manage subcontractors, collaborate with project managers and engineers, and serve as a technical and operational leader on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Installation Management
-Oversee the scheduling, installation, and commissioning of building automation and HVAC control systems.
-Ensure installations align with engineering drawings, project specifications, and industry standards.
-Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet project milestones.
-Track installation progress, identify potential delays, and resolve field issues proactively.
-Builds manpower schedules

Team Leadership & Development
-Supervise and support Lead installers and field installers.
-Conduct job site meetings, safety briefings, and performance reviews.
-Mentor and develop team members to improve technical skills, efficiency, and safety practices.
-Build team bench strength by developing junior technicians for future lead roles.

Quality, Compliance & Safety
-Ensure all installations follow company quality standards, OSHA requirements, and local codes.
-Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and safety compliance.
-Support commissioning team by resolving field wiring issues or equipment startup concerns.

Communication & Coordination
-Collaborate closely with engineering, programming, commissioning, and service departments.
-Provide regular updates to project managers regarding job status, manpower needs, and material tracking.
-Coordinate with GC, electrical contractors, and mechanical partners on site.

Resource & Materials Management
-Maintain job site inventory, coordinate delivery of materials, and track usage against budget.
-Forecast labor needs and help allocate resources across active projects efficiently.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
-Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
-5+ years of experience in BAS or HVAC controls installation, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Skills & Knowledge
-Strong knowledge of building automation systems (e.g., Tridium, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schnider Electric etc.).
-Proficient in reading wiring diagrams, mechanical plans, and control submittals.
-Understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, low-voltage wiring, and IT/networking basics.
-Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).

Certifications (Preferred but not required)
-OSHA 30 Certification
-BAS manufacturer certifications

Work Environment
-Job sites include mechanical rooms, rooftops, construction zones, and occupied commercial buildings.
-Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and operate hand/power tools.
-Travel to Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena, Missoula, Billings to collaborate with install team.
