Assistant Operator
Trillium is looking for an Assistant Operator - Quality Inspection (2nd Shift) is needed at metal manufacturer in Montgomery, IL!
A reliable and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Assistant Operator (Quality Inspection) is needed for a growing metal processing company in Montgomery, IL!
Candidate will support production and quality by inspecting aluminum & polished metal components, ensuring they meet internal & customer standards.
This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced metal manufacturing environment with significant opportunities for OT and long-term placement!
$22-25.00/hr (Based on experience). Contract-to-Hire (3 Months). Full Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) at hire-on. 2nd Shift, 2:00PM-10:30PM. (Currently working extended hours: up to 2:00 AM). Training Schedule: 2 weeks on 1st Shift (5:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities: Inspect metal materials for:
- Scratches, dents, surface defects, & polishing inconsistencies
- Dimensional accuracy and finish uniformity
- Adherence to visual/measurement-based quality standards
- Record inspection data accurately
- Use basic math to measure/verify dimensions, count parts, & complete logs
- Communicate w/ team to address quality issues
- Support quality improvement efforts on production floor

Physical Requirements:
- Must be capable of lifting 50lbs consistently throughout shift
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously for the duration of the shift
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/metal fabrication environment
Required Qualifications:
- Min. 2 years’ experience in quality inspection (or equivalent relevant experience)
- At least 2 years’ experience or exposure in metals, aluminum, polishing (any capacity)
- Strong attention to detail & excellent vision (essential for inspection tasks)
- Proficient w basic math & measurements
- Comfortable using computers for data entry/tracking
- Willingness and flexibility to work OT, including 10-12 hour shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift or Hilo experience (preferred but not required)
