Quality Control Coordinator

Our client is a family-run metals service center known for precision-processed coil (aluminum & stainless, including O-Temper).

They are adding a hands-on Quality Control Coordinator / Buyer to keep their ISO system strong and their coil pipeline moving.

What you’ll do
• Maintain the ISO 9001:2015 program in audit-ready condition: documents, internal audits, corrective actions, and the annual surveillance audit schedule.
• Manage training records and the skills matrix; monitor recertifications.
• Conduct daily quality checks (incoming, in-process, final), manage hold/release processes, and coordinate basic calibration scheduling.
• Handle supplier and customer claims: RMA, root cause analysis, corrective action, and cost recovery.
• Purchase and coordinate metal (coil/flat-rolled) from approved suppliers: issue POs, confirm lead times, track deliveries, and expedite as needed.
• Ensure ERP/MRP data accuracy (lot/heat traceability, certs/COAs) and provide clear updates to operations and sales.

What you’ll bring
• 2–5+ years of experience in a metals service center, stamper, coil processor, or a similar quality and/or purchasing role.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and internal audits (auditor certification a plus).
• Ability to read mill certs, alloys/tempers, gauges, and customer specifications.
• Proficiency with Excel/Sheets; experience using ERP/MRP systems (Epicor/Infor/NetSuite/JobBOSS or similar).
• Strong problem-solving skills (5-Why/8D/SPC basics) and effective communication with mills, customers, and internal teams.
