Trillium is Now Hiring: Senior Project Manager Solar & Energy Storage in the Midwest!

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead solar and energy-storage projects from pre-construction through commissioning. This role oversees all project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, reporting, and risk management while guiding multi-discipline teams across construction, electrical, engineering, and project controls.
This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with strong growth potential, cross-department collaboration, and leadership responsibility.

Salary $110k-150k DOE with annual bonus and benefit package.
Travel is required to sites about 50%
Duties:
-Lead all phases of solar and storage projects, including pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and warranty closeout.
-Direct utility interconnection and permitting; ensure all required approvals are secured prior to construction.
-Manage project teams including Construction Managers, Electrical Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors.
-Oversee development of subcontractor bid packages and procurement of subcontracted labor.
-Coordinate with procurement and warehousing teams to ensure all equipment is ordered and delivered according to project milestones.
-Plan project sequencing, crew size, productivity goals, and monthly labor budgets; monitor execution and update forecasts.
-Enforce project safety standards and ensure site-specific safety plans and training are implemented.
-Support project accounting including billing schedules, cash flow planning, collections, and financial reporting.
-Maintain accurate documentation in project management software including logs, photos, RFIs, inspections, delays, change events, and safety documentation.
-Identify, negotiate, and manage change orders; communicate updates with accounting and stakeholders.
-Provide consistent status updates, cost forecasting, schedule tracking, and reporting to internal teams and stakeholders.
-Lead client communications, meetings, and overall relationship management.
-Train, mentor, and supervise project team members; support development of junior staff.
-Monitor project risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate issues as necessary.
-Address and resolve conflicts or claims throughout the project lifecycle.
-Maintain strict quality control processes including development of site-specific quality plans and inspection templates.
-Champion continuous improvement by implementing efficiency and quality enhancements across project management practices.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
-7+ years of construction management experience; minimum 3 years in utility-scale solar or energy-storage projects.
-Strong expertise in scheduling, risk analysis, procurement, estimating, cost controls, and project financials.
-Working understanding of contract law, compliance requirements, and project accounting.
-Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams; strong communication and leadership skills.
-Proficiency with MS Office and industry-standard tools such as Procore.
-Experience developing and managing complex project schedules.
-Ability to travel up to 50%, including multi-day visits to remote project sites.
-Eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
-Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

Preferred:
-Master’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Management.
-PMP certification.
-Construction field experience.
