Site Safety & Health Officer
Trillium Construction is now seeking a Site & Safety Health Office in Tomah, WI for a temp-to-hire opportunity!
Pay rate is $40–$60/hr DOE. We are seeking an experienced SSHO Manager to support an upcoming VA construction project in Tomah, WI. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity driven by strict VA safety and quality requirements. Candidates may begin work pending VA clearance. The project involves an air handler replacement with significant crane operations.
Work starts ASAP and will last for around 12 months for this project, but then there are upcoming projects in Milwaukee, WI.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide daily onsite safety supervision for VA construction projects ($1M–$10M)
-Enforce EM 385-1-1 and OSHA safety standards
-Ensure compliance with VA requirements and 29 CFR 1926.16
-Act as the primary SSHO authority onsite
-Oversee subcontractors and field personnel
-Coordinate all jobsite activities and control site safety operations
-Maintain strong working relationships with VA representatives and site occupants
-Write and submit daily safety reports and maintain documentation
-Communicate daily safety updates and project status with the Project Manager

Qualifications
Required:
-Minimum 3 years of daily field supervision on construction projects
-Professional Safety Certification (CSP or equivalent)
-Additional safety training/certifications during those 3 years
-Strong communication skills and confident professional presence
-Ability to pass federal background check, VA badging, and drug screening
Preferred:
-Current OSHA 30
-USACE Quality Control Management Certification
-Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
