CNC Machinist

Trillium Staffing is now seeking CNC Machinists for work in the Eldridge, IA area!

Schedule will be 2nd or 3rd shift. Pay rate is Pay Rate: $19-$24/hr with Shift Differential, DOE.

The Level I CNC Operator is responsible for operating and adjusting CNC Mill and Lathe tools to perform standard and repetitive production sequences. This role focuses on executing provided programs and maintaining production flow where setups are established by senior technical staff.

The CNC Operator reports directly to the Production Shift Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Production: Operate CNC machining centers to produce high-precision components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
-Quality Control: Perform self-inspections of parts to ensure all specifications are met; follow non-conforming material processes when parts fall outside of tolerances.
-Documentation: Maintain accurate production and quality logs, documenting actions, irregularities, and shift-to-shift communication.
-Maintenance: Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting according to manufacturer instructions; notify supervision of any mechanical malfunctions.
-Verification: Verify machine settings and communicate clearly with supervisors when adjustments are required.
-Shop Stewardship: Maintain a clean and organized workstation following 5S lean manufacturing standards.
-Collaboration: Assist in training other Level I operators as needed and support the team with general repairs or replacement work.

Job Requirements
-Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Trade School or Vocational certification preferred.
-Experience: Previous machining experience or a completed certification from an accredited trade school is highly preferred.
-Technical Skills: * Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
-Basic knowledge of machining processes (drilling, milling, turning).
-Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height stands) to .001 accuracy.
-Ability to learn and perform tool offset adjustments to correct feature discrepancies.
-Basic understanding of cutting tools and the ability to judge tool wear.
-Familiarity with Mazak equipment and a willingness to learn M and G code is a significant plus.
-Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening. 
-Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently.
