CNC Machinist
Trillium Staffing is now seeking experienced CNC Machinists for work in the Eldridge, IA area!
Schedule is either 2nd or 3rd shift. Pay rate is $19.00 – $24.00/hr (plus shift differential, DOE).
The Level II CNC Operator is a skilled technical role responsible for operating and adjusting CNC Mill and Lathe centers. This position requires the ability to handle more complex production sequences, perform basic setups, and provide technical guidance to Level I operators.
Reporting Relationships
Reports directly to the Production Shift Supervisor. This role holds no formal management authority but serves as a technical resource for the production team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Advanced Production: Operate CNC machining centers to produce high-precision parts; perform basic machine setups and execute first-piece checks.
-Technical Assistance: Assist Level I Machinists with troubleshooting and repairs; provide guidance on best practices for achieving quality specs.
-Quality & Safety: Conduct thorough self-inspections and follow non-conforming material processes to maintain zero-defect standards.
-Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve workstation efficiency and production workflows.
-Documentation: Maintain detailed production and quality logs, ensuring all technical irregularities are communicated to the next shift.
-Maintenance: Monitor machine health, troubleshoot minor malfunctions, and coordinate with maintenance for complex repairs.
-Housekeeping: Adhere to 5S daily and weekly cleaning schedules to ensure a safe, professional work environment.

Job Requirements
-Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Trade Certification preferred.
-Experience: * 2+ years of professional machining experience or equivalent trade school certification.
-Strong computer literacy specific to CNC machine operation.
-Proven experience with complex blueprint reading and machining techniques for both Mills and Lathes.
-Technical Skills: * Independence: Ability to adjust tool and part offsets without assistance.
-Programming Literacy: Ability to read and comprehend CNC programs to understand machine logic.
-Precision: Competence measuring to .001 using micrometers, calipers, and height stands.
-Tooling: Basic understanding of cutting tools with the ability to judge wear and determine replacement timing.
-Equipment: Experience with Mazak machines and M/G code programming is highly preferred.
-Personal Tools: Candidate must own the standard hand tools required for this level of machining.
-Compliance: Successful completion of a background check, physical, and drug screening is required.
-Ability to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently.
